About the event
What to do Sunday night in Austin! The Blue Vinyl Crates Band was born in January 2020, an evolution of the creative core known as NeckBone. Built around Austin’s most prolific musicians, the BVC is a powerhouse of talent and soul. Founded by vocalist Ter’ell Shahid (aka Shahid), the band was inspired by the timeless artistry of Blue Note Records. After years of collaborating with each member in different projects, Shahid handpicked what he calls “the greatest musicians in the area” to form a group dedicated to pure, unfiltered musical creation. The lineup is nothing short of legendary: Jon Deas – Grammy-winning writer/producer on keys D Madness – Austin’s visionary creative, holding down the bass Meo Soul (Mario) – Drummer and vocalist who’s toured with music’s finest Matt Meuhling – Guitar master with unmatched skill One of the most unique parts of a BVC live show? They open each set with pure improvisation—creating music in the moment, weaving sounds that later become fully produced songs in the studio. Many of these incredible musicians can also be seen weekly as The Kill Tony Band on the hit comedy podcast recorded right here in Austin, Texas. Dive into the sound. Experience the energy.
